Ravine Hotel is affiliated to the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association, and is a part of the regular Tournament Circuit in India .
The "Spring Smash " and " Summer Slam" Tennis Tournaments are regularly held at Ravine Hotel, since 2005, and attract a large number of players, from places as far afield as Bangalore, Goa and Chennai. These Tournaments are included in the select category of "State Ranking " and "All India Ranking " Tournamemts, and therefore one can see the best tennis players in action !
The "Spring Smash" held in February 2009 at Ravine Hotel , saw the participation of many dedicated players, with over 100 matches being played in Junior, Senior, Boys and Girls Draws.
The Tournament was held under the banner of the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association, and a good turnout, with some excellent Tennis, was seen, as expected.
Prizes were given away by SALMAN KHAN, who was staying at the Hotel.
We now look forward to the SUPER STAR SENIOR'S Veteran's Tournament, an All India Ranking Tournament, which will be held under the auspices of the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association, from 20th to 24th December 2010.
This prestigious Tournament will be open to players over the age of 35 years, and is expected to attract the very best players. The Prize Money offered is the largest ever, for this tournament -- an amazing ONE LAC RUPEES !
So, we can look forward to a fun time and some great tennis in Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar!!
The Panchgani Municipal Council celebrated their Centenary this year -- and one of the Special Events was the Men's All India Ranking Tennis Tournament 2010, which was held at Hotel Ravine from 12th to 16th April 2010.
Coach Profile
Well it all started some 17 years ago. I have trained in Bombay, then moved to Canada for further training, were I achieved a raking of top 3 in British Columbia. After studying and training for a year. I moved to Florida to as it is better suited for pursuing a professional Tennis carrier. In Florida, I have trained at Rick Macci's, Sagusso & Bassets, Bobby Blair, and Bob Palmer. I had a tournament win record of over 45+ tournaments in the state of Florida. Achieved a raking of #12 in the Under 18's without playing a single designated tournament, because I was not a US resident. I also played # 1 on Suwannee High Tennis team, and we won the state Doubles and runner up in Singles, it was a first for Suwannee High.
I also played on the ITF Junior Circuit, With 2 European circuits and one Asian Tour, and numerous US ITF tournaments (including the Sunshine cup, and Orange Bowl) I achieved a ranking in the top 150 In the Junior ITF.
In India I played 2 nationals in Madras, where I reached the Semis, Both Years, beating the # 2 and #3 ranked in India, and was ranked as high as #5 in India Under 18's nationally.
After my Junior career, I Joined Florida Atlantic University where I received a full Scholarship and played # 2 on the Team, the University was unranked nationally, we achieved a raking of top 80 nationally by the end of the year.
My coaching background includes working in one of New York City largest Indoor Facility, Sutton East Tennis. Training juniors to ad vance adults. And 2002 summer training Private clients in South Hampton. Including clients like Denies Rich, Fuhrman's, David and Dan Wassong's.
I would like to accomplish a well-rounded tennis program in Panchgani, which includes the school to take an active part in an inter school tournament. And expose the students of your school to a new and exciting activity, which will benefit them in the future.
